There is a lot more to boat ownership that knowing how to sail one. That is why we offer the American Sailing Association (ASA) sailing program. The ASA program is unique in its focus on boat safety, cruising, and seamanship, in addition to sailing.

Each ASA class brings you closer to becoming a competent skipper--working with and keeping your crew safe, mastering motoring and docking skills, as well as sailing, and building confidence.

After completing the Bareboat chartering course, you have a good understanding of these boat ownership topics:

• different boat systems
• how boat design affects the way that the boat sails
• the many different ways that boats can be rigged
• the importance of great communication with your crew
• how to think "smart" when sailing
• a better idea of what type of boat you want
• whether boat ownership is right for you
